Thanks to the collective efforts of many, Cologne's Communities of Belonging initiative unveiled a beautiful new mural - celebrating Cologne's rich history - during the community's Glad Days celebration last weekend. The mural is painted on the west side wall of the old fire barn near the splash pad in CitySquare Park at 107 John Ave. N. The mural has long been discussed as an important initiative of the Communities of Belonging to celebrate Cologne's past - and present - to inform residents and visitors of the town's history, and to welcome all to Cologne.
The mural was created by artist Lana Beck, and made possible by Cologne Communities of Belonging Arts Council members Janet Fahey and Lona Hendricks, the City of Cologne, the Cologne Fire Department Relief Association, the Cologne Lions Club, Cologne Academy volunteers, Modern Design, Vos Construction, and other Communities of Belonging volunteers.
