Ready for launch, ready for employment

Launch Café, which launched last week in Cologne, is more than about providing coffee and food items to patrons. It is also about providing employment opportunities for young adults in crisis.

So explains John Pennucci, manager of Launch Café, which is owned and operated by Launch Ministry, the Chaska-based organization focused on launching in-crisis 18-29-year-olds into successful adulthood. The café will be an employment readiness program for Launch Ministry participants.

The organization was established in 2009 in response to the increasing needs of young adults who struggle with homelessness, mental illness, unstable relationships, substance abuse, or any of the other complex realties of adulthood, according to founder and executive director Corey Magstadt.
